Workshop Projects

These are the embroidery and stitching projects currently available as workshops. I am happy to tailor classes to suit any ability level. To find out about booking me for a workshop please visit the main workshops page.

NB: I no longer travel for 1 day workshops or talks, however I am available for workshop retreats or events of 2 or more days. Please contact me via email if you wish to enquire further about what I can offer.

Beaded Embroidery

Learn to incorporate beads into your actual embroidery stitches. Students are taught a variety of textured and raised stitches incorporating beads into the stitches. One or two day workshop. You will receive a workshop pack on Day 1 and then work on a project of your own or one of my designs on Day 2 – materials not provided.

Surface Embroidery

Choose from a large range of my projects and learn all the important techniques surrounding embroidering with thread! I can teach from absolute beginner level, practicing with individual stitches, to then transforming these stiches into recognisable flowers. Finally, for intermediate-advanced students, you may attempt a full piece of embroidery from one of my designs or even creating your own! Full Kits can be provided, or students may supply their own materials.

Crazy Patchwork, including Embellishment and Enhancement

Create your own piece in the Crazy Patch style, with various types of enhancement like beads, lace, sequins, ribbons, threads, buttons and anything else you can think of! Follow one of my projects, eg. my crazy patch pincushion design, or create something else with my guidance. Materials can be provided, or students can supply their own.

Crazy patchwork

Silk Ribbon

Work with Silk Ribbon to create beautiful and elegant embroidery designs, with tailored sessions for any level of ability. I offer taster packs for absolute beginners to get to grips with working with ribbons, and then I have a range of designs from relatively easy to advanced that students can have a go at completing! Materials or full kits can be provided, or students may supply their own if they are already more experienced in this form of embroidery.

Stumpwork

Learn the fundamentals of Stumpwork, an embroidery technique involving 3D elements supported by wire, and work towards completing a design! A kit can be supplied or students provide their own materials (Design idea or pattern provided!). Students need to have a general knowledge and aptitude in regular surface embroidery techniques if they want to attempt stumpwork.
