Home classes

Embroidery classes from my studio ‘The Nest’ in Medstead, Hampshire are small intimate workshops with groups of a maximum number of 4-6 students to allow for plenty of individual attention.

I offer a range of projects or you may bring your own projects with you to work on under my guidance. If you are looking for a specific technique or style and you don’t see it in the list of projects here then please do contact me and I will be happy to accommodate. As I only have 4-6 in a group, workshops do not need to cover one specific embroidery type. I am happy to combine stumpwork, silk ribbon and 3-D embroidery techniques in all workshops.

All classes are a full day (9.30am – 4.30pm). Due to popular request, I am offering more days including Saturdays, for those who work during the week. A £25 deposit is required at the time of booking. Light refreshments are provided as part of the cost including various teas, coffees, juices, cake and biscuits, etc. Please supply your own lunch pack.

I carry a full range of kits as well as silk ribbons, hand-dyed threads and haberdashery including some DMC threads, as well as fabric, hoops and needles, etc which you are welcome to browse from and purchase on the day.

Travelling to Medstead

I live in a small village in north Hampshire close to Alton. Despite being a small village it has good road links close to the A31 and is just 25 minutes’ drive from the historic city of Winchester. The nearest railway station is Alton which is just 15 minutes’ drive away and has good links to London.

If you are planning an overnight stay to join one of my classes you will find plenty of excellent B&Bs and pubs in the locality, as well as in Winchester itself. We are also quite close to both the naturalist Gilbert White’s House and the Jane Austen House museum in Chawton if you are looking for activities to make a few days of it.
