This design was featured in Stitch magazine, United Kingdom in December 2009.
The design, measuring 3inches (7cm) in diameter, introduces a beginner to simple stumpwork techniques. It incorporates a bit of stumpwork, with raised, textured stitches and threads. Suitable for a beginner to stumpwork, who has some knowledge of regular embroidery stitches.
With the pincushion, I have used drizzle stitch for one sheep, a slip of French knots appliqued onto the background for the second and a couched woollen thread for the third. Alternatively drizzle stitch can be used for all three sheep. Little wired horns complete the design.
Your pattern and print kit contains the design screened onto fabric, muslin for backing, a full set of instructions including a stitch glossary and colour photographs.
All of my pattern and print kits are beautifully packaged in cellophane bags, making them very suitable as gifts.
